London, UK [04.11.2024]
Fraser and Fraser, a leading probate research firm, is thrilled to announce its participation in Living Wage Week. As a company deeply committed to ethical business practices and social responsibility, Fraser and Fraser is proud to be part of the movement to make London a Living Wage city.
The London Living Wage is a voluntary rate set independently by the Living Wage Foundation, which reflects the cost of living in the capital. It is higher than the national minimum wage and is designed to ensure that workers can afford a basic standard of living. By paying the London Living Wage, businesses like Fraser and Fraser are helping to reduce poverty and inequality in the city.
Living Wage Week is the annual celebration of the Living Wage movement. With 12.9% of employees still paid below the real Living Wage. As a London Living Wage Employer, Fraser and Fraser are taking “A Step Beyond” by becoming Living Wage accredited and paying a real Living Wage. With 50% of employees paid below the real Living Wage, this movement has never been more important.
Believing that all employees deserve to be fairly compensated for their work is extremely important to Fraser and Fraser. That’s why we have a steadfast policy of paying all our staff at least the London Living Wage, ensuring that everyone receives a salary that allows them a decent standard of life.
Neil Fraser, Partner at Fraser and Fraser, and an advocate for the Living Wage Foundation, is aware of other businesses that exploit internships and apprenticeships as means to evade paying the real Living Wage.
Neil went on to say “We understand that internships and apprenticeships can be valuable experiences for many, but we believe that they often exploit individuals by offering little to no pay or benefits. Our commitment to fair wages means that we do not offer internships or apprenticeships, as they go against our core principles of fair pay, in a collaborative and supportive work environment.”
By paying a real London Living Wage and prioritising fair compensation for all our employees, Fraser and Fraser is demonstrating their dedication to creating a more reasonable and just society.
During this week we encourage other businesses in London to join us in this important movement.
